Mike Allen
Head Coach

Mike Allen is starting his 6th year as head basketball coach at Olathe South.  His overall record is 78-34 with four state appearances and 2 sub-state finalists.  He was assistant varsity coach at South from 2009-2016 where he was fortunate to be a part of the 2010 state championship team.  He previously coached boys (1994-2009) and girls (2000-2015) basketball at Frontier Trail Junior High.  He also coached AAU Boys from 2005-2014.  Coach Allen retired from softball in 2019 after being the head coach at South since 2002.  Once again, he was very fortunate to be the head coach on two state championship teams in 2015 and 2016.  In 2018, Coach Allen won the NAIA Champions of Character Award, and he was inducted into the Olathe South Hall of Fame in 2019.  Coach Allen teaches Honors English I and Guided Study, and he is the assistant girls golf coach at South.


Coach Allen has been married to his wife, Stacey, for 32 years.  They have three children:  Amy (29, reading specialist in Olathe and married to Griff Young), Matthew (25, Cerner), and Abigail (21, senior at Emporia State).  Coach Allen’s granddaughter, Georgia Mae (2 1/2 years) and Greta (6 months). 

Nikki Hoffman
Assistant Varsity Coach

Coach Hoffman is starting her 6th year as a coach in the Olathe South Lady Falcon program .  Previously she was an Assistant Varsity Coach at Shawnee Mission East and at McPherson High School. Since that time, she has worked with various youth programs in both districts as well as with her own children. Coach Hoffman served three years as the Athletic Director at Pioneer Trail Middle school during her time there as a 7th grade science teacher. Coach Hoffman currently teaches AP Biology and Biology at Olathe South.

She is married to Chad Hoffman, Freshmen counselor at OS, and together they have four children – Coby, Kylie, Jack and Hank.

Kylee Kopatich
Junior Varsity Coach

Kylee Kopatich is a 1st year coach at Olathe South. She is a former Olathe South graduate who played basketball under Steve Ingram and Mike Allen from 2012-2015. She went on to play basketball at the University of Kansas from 2015-2019. At KU she holds the school record for minutes played in a career and is second all-time in 3-point shots made.  She graduated from KU with a Sport Management degree but decided to change paths and is now working towards a Masters from MidAmerica Nazarene University in Elementary Education. In her spare time, she coaches and plays basketball with Livin’ the Dream. 


She has a corgi named Moose. 

Mark Robinson
C Team Coach

Mark is in his 2nd year coaching in the Olathe South basketball program this season as the C team coach.
